Memorial graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Woodbine Cemetery for Mrs. Roberta Y. Haynes of Lubbock, Texas.

Roberta Marie Yeats Haynes, 97, died Thursday, May 17, 2007 in Lubbock.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of White Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.

Mrs. Haynes was born on June 4, 1909 in Winters, Texas; the daughter of Robert and Pearl (Speer) Yeats.

Roberta married Owen Haynes on June 11, 1932 in Carrizo Springs. They later moved to Artesia, New Mexico. Owen preceded her in death on April 17, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Nell Forbes.

Mrs. Haynes was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Artesia where she served as the church secretary for many years. She was also a homemaker; avid reader; loved crafts; ceramics, and embroidery; and enjoyed playing bridge with her husband. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her son Robert Haynes of Lubbock; grandchildren Deborah Frankhouser and husband Eric of Austin, Texas, and Robert Nelson Haynes of Lubbock; great-grandchild Cash Nelson Frankhouser; and brother Vestal L. Yeats of Lubbock.
