Martha Jane Blevins
June 10, 1927 — April 6, 2007
Martha Blevins, 79, of Albany, died Friday at Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
She was born in Washington, D.C, the daughter of Drewey Adam and Nancy Jane (Bond) Yates.
Martha married Edgar A. Blevins in 1948 in Greenup, Ky. They lived in California before moving to Oregon in 1985. He preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 1992.
While she lived in California, she enjoyed and spent much of her time as a volunteer at the Jerry L. Pettis Veterans Hospital. She was a member of the Disabled American Veteran's Auxiliary. When she could find the time she enjoyed crocheting.
Martha is survived by children Colleen Blevins, Edgar Blevins Jr. and Sharlene Parker, all of Albany; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister Helen Montgomery of Titusville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by daughter Darlene Nicewaner.
A funeral service will be Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home. Private interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
