Richard Yates

HARRISBURG — A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at the Murray Hill Christian Church in Beaverton for Richard Alexander Yates of Harrisburg, who died Jan. 16 of cancer. He was 57. Burial was at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

He was born Oct. 31, 1952, in Tacoma, to Keith and Dolores Hensel Yates. He married Judith Bellas on July 13, 2007, in Harris­burg.

He graduated from high school in Bothell, Wash., and attended Bellevue Community College. He served in the Air Force.

He was a parts representative for Safari Motorcoaches and Country Coach.

Survivors include his wife; his parents; a daughter, Kristina Yates of Vandling, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Margaret Purcell of Idaho Falls, Idaho; four sisters, Mollie McIntosh of Anacortes, Wash., Nancy Sands of Milwaukie, Danielle Yates of Woodburn and Pamela Beeler of Springfield; a brother, Thomas Yates of Vancouver, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
