Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock and at the Presbyterian church in Osnabrock at 2:30 o'clock for Mrs. Frederick Berg, who passed away at her home in Osnabrock Thursday, February 20, following a nine weeks' illness of heart disease and complications. The services were in charge of Rev. W. Meinicke, pastor of the Dresden German Lutheran church and music was furnished by a choir consisting of Mrs. Percy C. Hewitson, Mrs. A. A. Heppner, M. J. Rasmusson and Alfred Morken, with Mrs. E. K. Douglas at the organ. I. C. Smith, D. S. Ward, Fred R. Rite, L. E. Wedwick, Anton and Hans Dahl were the pallbearers who carried the remains to their final resting place in the Osnabrock Cemetery.
Ernestine Yager, youngest daughter of Martin Yager and Eleanor Summerfeldt, was born in Russia December 2, 1877, was baptized December 6th of the same year, and passed away at the age of 52 years, 2 months, and 18 days. Both of the parents died while Ernestine was very young and she came to America, settling in Neche. She was married February 26, 1905, at Gretna, Manitoba to Frederick Berg and they came immediately to Osnabrock, where the family home was established.
Mrs. Berg was the mother of six children, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are Mrs. Julia Brusseau and Mrs. Isabel Ruether of Aberdeen, Wash.; Mrs. Katherine Johnson of Houghton, SD; and Margaret of Osnabrock. Deceased is also survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Lena Kuball of Dresden, Emily of Chicago, and one sister, a resident of Washington.
