HURT IN FALL, KELLNERSVILLE RESIDENT DIES
E. C. Yohanek, 56, Hardware Dealer, Was Injured 2 Weeks Ago; Services Friday
Injuries sustained two weeks ago when he fell from a roof he was repairing on
his property in Kellnersville caused the death in this city Tuesday night of
Edmund C. Yohanek, 56, prominent county merchant.
Mr. Yohanek, hardware dealer and garage operator in Kellnersville, fell 12 feet
from the roof to the ground and received several fractured ribs and internal
injuries. He was brought to the hospital in this city.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Yohanek home in
Kellnersville. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery in this city.
Born in Kossuth
Mr. Yohanek was born in Kossuth in 1880 and spent all his life in the county.
He learned the barber trade and conducted a shop in the village. Later he took
up erection of farm machinery which he followed for a number of years until he
established his own hardware business. With the advent of the automobile he
extended his business to the garage field.
He served several years as treasurer of the Kossuth Mutual Fire Insurance company.
He was also a member of the Z.C.B.J.
In 1908 Mr. Yohanek married Miss Helen Schenian of Kellnersville.
Survivors are his widow; a son, Victor; and two daughters, Gladys and Grace, all
of Kellnersville. A brother, John of Los Angeles, Calif, also survives.
The body was removed to the home today from the Husar and Wachal undertaking
parlors.
