Mrs. Harry Barr Was Lifelong Resident Here
Services were held Saturday at the Dietz-Pittman Colonial Chapel for Mrs. Harry L. Barr Sr., a lifelong El Dorado resident, who died November 20 after a lengthy illness. Dr. Joe Riley Burns, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Amos Marsh played organ selections. The casket beareres were Allyn McGinnis, Bill Poole, Harold Luck, Joe Parry, Archie Leben and Luke Headrick. Interment was in Sunset Lawns.
The former Florence Wyman, Mrs. Barr was born February 22, 1897, in El Dorado, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs Arch Wyman (Winnie Kimberlin), and was married to Mr Barr November 9, 1917. His death occurred September 5, 1961. The family home was at 521 South High street.
Mrs Barr was a member of the El Dorado First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Harry L. Barr Jr., Tulas, Oklahoma; Jack R. Barr, Paris France, and William E. Barr, Anaheim, California; a daughter, Mrs. Robert E. Rutter (Virginia), Klamath Falls, Oregon; one brother and three sisters, Archie Wyman, 119 East Eighth, El Dorado; Mrs. Marion Morris (Janet), Clerwater, Florida; Mrs. Arval Crumrine (Letha), Powell, Wyoming, and Mrs. Nobel Brooks (Muriel), Detroit, Michigan. There are five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
