Etta Beason, 86, died Monday morning, Dec. 4, 2006 at her home in the Sharp Community. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 in the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Larry Griffith of First Baptist Church in Thorndale officiating. Burial followed in the Locklin Cemetery near San Gabriel.
Mrs. Beason, a homemaker.
She was born Jan. 20,1920 in Chester to James William and Edna (Netherlin) Wylie, Jr. She married Dan Beason on July 5, 1941 in Chester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Todd Beason; three brothers, James Wylie, Calvin Wylie and Cleveland Dominy.
Survivors include her husband Dan Beason of Sharp; two sons, William E. Beason and wife Juanita of Rockdale and Curtis H. Beason and wife Shirley of Sharp; daughter, Melba J. Beason Turnbow and husband James Ronald of San Marcos; two sisters, Vivian E. Cogbill of Jasper and Gladys Toney of Chester; six grandchildren, Daniel Heine and wife Irma of Sweetwater; Dana Vance and husband Greg of Lago Vista, Cary Beason and wife Stacy of Rockdale, Tammy Harris and husband Jack of Como, Kendal Beason and wife Sharla of League City and Amy Beason of Arlington; 16 great-grandchildren.
