In 1850, at age 16, she was recorded in the census living with the Gorham family which included Thornton and Mariah Gorham and their children, John, Daniel, Thomas and William, ages 9, 7, 4 and 2, respectively.
On June 14, 1860, she was recorded still living in Brown Township, but as a servant for Mariah Gorham (spelled Goram in the record). Mariah's husband, Thornton, was not listed. Their children were all recorded with ditto marks for the last name and listed under Florinda making it appear that their last name was also Wright. They were listed as: John, age 19; David, 17; Thomas, 15; William, 12; Priscilla A, 9; and Thornton, 6, and should have been listed with the surname Gorham.
Also in Brown Township on June 15, 1860, she was recorded as living in the home of her mother, Mary Templin, who also had daughters, Angeline, age 25, and Hester, age 14.
She married James Freeland on May 15, 1864 in Marion County, Indiana.
They had one daughter named Martha who was born about 1866.
In 1870, she and James lived in Wayne Township, Marion County. In addition to their daughter, her mother, age 59, was living with them.
In 1880, she, James and Martha were the only ones living in their household. They were still in Wayne Township.
