BRIDGEWATER — Mrs. Grace Marie Wright Glick, 50, wife of Jesse L. Glick, and a well-known resident of Centerville died unexpectedly at 8:15 Sunday morning.
Mrs. Glick had not been well for the past two weeks and became seriously ill early yesterday morning. She was rushed to the Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the late John S. Wright and Nancy Miller Wright, she was born on Oct. 19, 1908 at Dale Enterprise, but moved to Mt. Crawford with her parents at an early age where she was reared.
On Dec. 25, 1932 she was married Jesse L. Glick, and following their marriage they resided at Weyers Cave for two years prior to moving to Centerville.
Mrs. Glick was an active and faithful member of the Summit Church of the Brethren. She taught in the Sunday School Department and was also active in the Women's Work of the Church. She also was a district officer and a regional officer of the Women's Work of the Church of the Brethren.
Besides her husband, a prominent farmer, she is survived by six children, Ray F. Glick, 'who has been teaching in Talas, Turkey for the past year and who is en route home; Mrs. Carl Fifer of Bridgewater, Route 2; Miss Glenna Glick and Diana Glick, both at home; Mrs. Robert Simmons of; Mt. Solon; and John W, Glick who is in Alternative Service North Africa. She also leaves one grandchild; and one brother, Charles L. Wright, of Staunton; and three sisters, Miss Vernie Wright, of Richmond; Mrs. C. B. Wampler of Weyers Cave; and Miss Mary Ethel Wright o Bridgewater, Route 2. She also leaves her stepmother, Mrs. Ida R. Wright of Route 2, Bridgewater.
Funeral services will held from the Summit Church of the Brethren but the date has, not been set for the services – pending word from her two sons overseas.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and that those desiring to do so to send money normally used for this purpose to the Building Fund of the Summit. Church of the Brethren in her memory.
Her body now rests at the Lindsey Bridgewater Funeral Home.
