Arthur LeRoy Wright, 87 years, of Joplin, Missouri departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2008 at his home after an illness.
Arthur was born on February 25, 1921 to the late Jess and Vesta (Chapman) Wright near Goodman, Missouri.
He was raised in the McDonald County area and graduated from Anderson High School.
He honorably served his country in the Army Air Corp during WW II.
On September 27, 1948 he was united in marriage to Paulene Garvin and to this union a daughter was born.
Arthur and Paulene have lived in the Joplin area since 1994, moving from Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Arthur worked for American Airlines for 33 ½ years as an aircraft mechanic.
Arthur enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling and spending time with this family.
Arthur is survived by Paulene, his wife of 59 years, a daughter, Teresa Wright of Tulsa, Oklahoma; a son Arthur Dean Wright and wife Christine of Grand Rapids, MI.; six Grandchildren, Daniel and Samuel Pickett of Tulsa, OK, Andy, Stephanie, Lucas and Jimmy Wright all of Michigan and five great grandchildren; a brother; Warren Wright and wife Merl of Dittmer, Missouri as well as a host of other family and friends.
