The funeral of Mrs. Minnie Crites was held at the M. E. Church Saturday at 2:30 p. m., conducted by Dorsey and Sullivan of Girard. The funeral discourse was preached by Rev. H. C. Brockman, Mrs. Bell Johnson, Mrs. Rosie Potter, John Herlocker and Elmer McCracken sang "Does Jesus Care," "Beautiful Garden of Prayer: and "Rock Of Ages." pianist, Mrs. Harriet Bever. Pallbearers were Alpha Jones, Jesse Mitchell, Ed and John Johnson, Fay Herlocker and Frank Bever. The remains were followed to the last resting place by a large concourse of friends and neighbors and the number of floral pieces attested the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The community has indeed suffered a loss in the passing away of this estimable woman. The obituary was the summing up of a life well spent and the neighbors and friends will miss her as the days go by, as well as the family who have our heartfelt sympathy.

Mrs. Effie Klock, a long time
friend of Mr. Crites requested that
the following two poems used by
Rev. Brockman be printed:

Onward it crept with added
Never a thought of fear or pride
And it followed the light through
the crevice length
And unfolded itself on the other

The light, the dew, the broadening
Were found the same as they
were before;
It lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing its fragrance more and

Shall claim of death cause us to
And make our courage faint or
Nay, let us faith and hope receive
The rose still grows beyond the

Scattering fragrance far and wide.
