Was born in Crockett, Houston County, Texas and died in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. Brought back to Crockett, Old Glenwood Cemetery for burial.
Son of Major James C. and Emily Cash Wootters.
He was a man of distinctive originality and independence in thought and action and he has shown special interest in the developing of Houston County along industrial and commercial lines. He has undoubtedly more to make Houston County a center of horticulture than any other one man. He shipped the first load of Irish potatoes ever sent out from this county and was also a prominent factor in the development of the lignite coal fields in this county.
He was a Mason, and Knights Templar.
On June 29th 1894 he married Miss Byrde Eastham daughter of Byrd Eastham an honored citizen of Huntsville, Texas.
They had two daughters, one died as an infant; Delha Mildred Wootters.
He is buried in Old Glenwood Cemetery in Crockett along side his wife, daughter, parents and grandparents and numerous other kin.
