Marjorie W. Goodnight, 81, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare in Bloomington. She was a resident of Trevlac.
She was born May 18, 1923, in Clay County. Her parents were Marion Calvin and Hazel (Cooper) Wools. She married George H. Goodnight on Feb. 4, 1941, in Clay County. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1967. Survivors include three sons, Marion Goodnight of Jacksonville, Fla., Ronald Goodnight of Morgantown and Eugene Goodnight of Dunnellon, Fla.; a sister, Charlotte Hicks of Atlanta; caregivers, Patricia and Gary McCastle of Greencastle; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rosella Burns, Mary Freeman, Marcella Burger and Ruth Ann Sillery.
She was employed by RCA in Bloomington for six years. She previously was employed by Sarkes Tarzian in Bloomington for eight years. She also owned a home-cleaning business.
She was a member of Martinsville VFW Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Bear Creek Cemetery in Brown County. Friends may call from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown.
