Frances (Fannie) Jane Woolfolk Wallace was one of five children born to George Woolfolk and his wife Catherine (Kitty) Temple Tompkins Gwathmey.
Fannie was united in marriage on April 14, 1856 in Paducah, Kentucky to Phillip Hugh Wallace. Fannie and Phillip were blessed with one son during their 48 year marriage:

Frances traveled from Paducah, Kentucky to Mobile, Alabama and back during the Civil War to be with her husband, Phillip Hugh Wallace, an officer in the Confederate Army. Upon on her return, the Woolfolk family was not admitted to return to Paducah. They stopped in Memphis, Tennessee.
Frances is interred with her husband, son, and daughter-in-law.
