Irene Woolever, 95, of Fort Madison, died February 22 at the Montrose Health Care Center where she had resided for several years.
Mrs. Woolever was born January 21, 1912, at Marceline, MO and came to Fort Madison to work at the age of 16 at the Sheaffer Pen Co. She was a lifelong resident of Fort Madison, and was well known for the pies she baked for the Alley Inn diner.
On Sept. 1, 1937, she married Loicel L. Woolever of Fort Madison in Bonaparte. He preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Wm.R. Woolever of Davis, Il, Charles Woolever of San Diego, CA, Thomas Woolever of Fort Madison and six grandchildren.
Her parents were James M. and Mary Ellen (Brooks) Sweezer, who preceded her in death.
Final rites will be at the King-Lynk Funeral Home and burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
