MARION -- Barbara Sue (Hudgens) Woolard, 76, passed away at 8:57 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at home.
Barbara was born March 13, 1935, in Marion, the daughter of Sam and Helen I. (Stroud) Hudgens.
She married James Woolard in 1956 in Marion, and together they shared 49 years of marriage until his death June 19, 2005.
The beginning of her career was in banking, having worked for Bank of Herrin, a bank in Chicago, Old National in Springfield and while living in Minnesota she worked for Ford Motor Co. In her later years, while living in Syracuse, N.Y., she worked for Agway Farm Corporate office for the board of directors.
Barbara was a member of Marion Third Baptist Church.
Survivors include sister, Judy Arnold and husband, Barry, of Marion; brother, Thomas J. Hudgens of Marion; nieces, Sally Pearce and husband, Joe, of Marion, Suzie Albright and husband, Steve, of Goreville, Beth Ide of Texas; and nephew, Jeff Woods of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Woolard; and nephew, Mark Arnold.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, in Third Baptist Church in Marion with the Revs. Scott Kallem and Larry Shacklee officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church.
Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
