Meryl G. Woody, 53, a son of Oscar and Gladys Roberds Woody, was born on Dec. 30, 1937 at Jefferson City and died Thursday, Sept. 5, 1991 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

On Oct. 27, 1956 at Meta, he was united in marriage to Chloe Jones, who survives at the home.

Other survivors include his father, Oscar Woody of Meta; three sons, Jack Woody of Dixon, Ronnie Woody and his wife, Deana of Dixon and Chuck Woody of the home; one brother, Johnnie Woody of Vienna; and one sister, Elaine Doyel of Jefferson City; one grandson, Benjamin Meryl Branson Woody.

Meryl was a 1956 graduate of the Vienna High School and for the past 23 years had worked for the Missouri State Highway Department and was also a farmer. He was a member as well as a deacon of the Campground Christian Church.

Services were held the following Sunday at the Campground Christian Church with Bro. Lee Todd officiating. Burial was in the Pendleton cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael, Daniel, Steven and Timothy Bassett and David and Tommy Roberds.
