COCHRANTON — Carol A. Woodworth, 74, of Cochranton, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at her residence.
Born June 4, 1938, in Turtle Creek, she was a daughter of John and Bess Wright Jackson. She married Paul Woodworth on Dec. 28, 1957, and he survives.
She was the valedictorian for the Cochranton High School graduating class of 1956 and served as the Fairfield Township tax collector for 30 years.
Her hobbies included ceramics and painting, but she was most known for her sewing and quilting and was a member of area quilting clubs. She was also a member of Cochranton United Methodist Church, but her favorite time was when she was with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 54 years, she is survived by a daughter, Lori Nestor and her husband, Brad, of Erie; two sons, Tommy Woodworth of Cochranton, and Timothy Woodworth and his wife, Rebekah, of Rock Port, Maine; six grandchildren, Douglas and Samuel Nestor, Jordan and Deven Woodworth, and Paul and Fran Woodworth; a sister, Audrey Whitmarsh of Jacksonville, Fla.; and a brother, John Jackson and his wife, Lois, of Cochranton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandchildren, triplets Andrew, Michael and Julie Ann Nestor.
Friends may call at Dickson Family Funeral Home Inc., 123 S. Franklin St., Cochranton, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Greg Spencer of Cochranton United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Cochranton Cemetery.
