Birth: Aug. 11, 1880
Ontario, Canada
Death: Jan. 7, 1966
Yolo County
California, USA

Rose was married to John Andrew Amundson. Together they had 9 children: Edna Vivian, William Vernon, Lillian May, Hazel Stephane, Clifford Jennings (my father), Leroy John, George Sidney, Dale Edward & Everett Leslie (Chic). John died from cancer in 1922. He is buried in Minot, ND. Rose worked for a number of years as a 'nanny' for different families in Sacramento, CA. Although she did not purchase a home, she spent most of her time traveling between her children's homes. She thoroughly enjoyed flying and staying with her son, George, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her young son, Dale Edward, left home at the young age of 16 years old. When traveling through Minot, ND, on occasion, Dale would call his brother, Chic. Although many family members searched through the years for him, he was not located. Rose's granddaughter, Pat, finally located a death record for Dale who had passed away from cancer in December of 2001. It was learned he had joined the Service shortly after leaving home. During his life, he had married and had 2 daughters. Dale had traveled and worked in various places throughout the world...Turkey, Egypt, etc. He and his wife divorced. He had lived in an apartment in Manhattan, New York, for a number of years. His daughters told Pat that he loved living in Manhattan with the excitement of the night life. He never saw his mother or sibblings again after leaving ND. Rose spent the last years of her life living with her son, Clifford, in Woodland, CA. Her death was caused from complications with lung cancer. She passed away at Woodland Memorial Hospital and is buried with her daughter, Hazel Amundson Hunter, in a crypt at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento. Rose's parents were Henry & Matilda (Rankin) Woods. Proof that Rose's father's name was Henry is made from her Social Security application. Matilda is buried at Minot, ND. There is very little information regarding Rose's father, Henry, other than stories state he was born in England. Family members do not know if Matilda and Henry were divorced or if Henry died at a young age. We do not know if he came to the States with Matilda and Rose. It is not known where Henry is buried. It is thought that Rose had a brother but there is no proof to support that story.
