Irma R. Woods
---Irma R. Woods, age 77, of Marshall, died at Marshall Manor on Friday night, October 11, after a lengthy illness.
---Mrs. Woods was born May 20, 1919 in Marshall Township to Rene A. and Irma (Clearhout) Herman. She has lived in Marshall all of her life, and was a 1936 Marshall High School graduate. She had worked as a playground supervisor at Sherman School and also helped older people stay in their own homes by helping with meals and housework.
---She was married on January 25, 1947 in Marshall at St. Mary Catholic Church to Kenneth Woods.
---Mrs. Woods was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
---Surviving are her husband, Ken; four sons, Jack Woods, David Woods, Jim Woods and Jeff Woods all of Marshall; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Lou Wolf of Sturgis; three brothers, Paul Herman and Robert Herman of Marshall and Jack Sherman[sic] of Battle Creek and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Steel and five brothers, Richard, Joseph, James, Rene C., and George Herman.
---Mass will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Lawrence Woods officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Catholic Church of the Alzheimer's Foundation. Assistance with memorials is available at Kempf Funeral Home.
