James Darrell "Jimmy" Woodrum Sr., 74, of South Charleston went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 29, 2006.

He was a Christian and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, South Charleston, where he served as an usher. He was a Korean War veteran, a retired employee of Frito-Lay Company and a life member and past president of the FOP Lodge, South Charleston.

James was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and had volunteered many hours with Little League sports.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Glenna Woodrum; sister, Wanoka Woodrum; and brother, Don Woodrum.

He is survived by his wife, Marvella; two sons and their wives, James "Woody" and Karen Woodrum and Craig and Gina Woodrum; one daughter and her husband, Cynda and Gene Workman; three sisters-in-law, Jean Bays and husband Bob, Phyllis Sheets and Cathy Thornton; and seven grandchildren, Martha, Brandon, Angela, Zachary, Gene, Nicholas and Jamie; nieces, Beverly Johnson, Brenda Hudson and husband Basil, Kim Bays and husband Jeff; and nephews, Russell Paul Thornton, Eric Phillips and wife Gladys.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 3, at First Church of the Nazarene, Kentucky and Walnut Streets, South Charleston, with Pastors Kent Estep and Merlin Provance officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, with military graveside rites conducted by the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768.
