Mrs. Ann Alberta Woodruff Davis, 85, a resident of Evergreens Senior Healthcare, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at St. Paul Presbyterian Church USA, 309 Summit Road, with Rev. E.B. Freeman, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. On Thursday, the cortege will assemble at the residence of Charles and Doris Davis, 402 Crestline Dr.
Mrs. Davis, a daughter of Lonnie and Marrine Knox Woodruff, was born April 8, 1923, in Coolemee. For most of her adult life, she was a resident of High Point, where she was a 1942 graduate of William Penn High School, and a retired nurse's aide at Presbyterian Homes. She was an active member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church and a member of Presbyterian Women until her health began to decline. Civically, she was a member of Senior Citizens; fraternally, a former member of White Rose Chapter #157, Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Davis, Sr.; two sons, Frank L. Davis, Jr., and Frank D. Davis; parents; granddaughter, Nina Christina Davis; and two sisters, Lucy Holly and Juanita Graham.
Survivors include three sons, Charles E. (Doris) Davis, Lonnie P. Davis, and Bernard W. Davis; two daughters, Linda Alberta (Billy) Davis and Donna (Calvin) Scaife, all of High Point; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one nephew, John Lewis Graham; two nieces, Carol H. (Tim) Williams and Dianne (Dan) Douglass; one aunt; one cousin; other relatives and friends.
