KUNA, IDAHO - Ellen Stout Woodbury, 89, of Kuna, Idaho, passed away July 17, 2005. She was born in LaVerkin, Utah on October 26, 1915 to Allen William and Ellen Isabella Thurston Stout. She married Max Johnson Woodbury on March 10, 1933 in Parowan, Utah. They were sealed in the St. George Temple on December 12, 1934. He preceded her in death on July 5, 2003. She graduated from Hurricane High School in 1933 and lived in LaVerkin until 1966, when they moved to Provo. Since the death of her husband, she has lived in Kuna, Idaho.
She was a member of the LDS Church, served in all auxiliaries, and briefly with her husband in the Provo Temple. Hobbies include making quilts, divinity and molasses candy, family reunions, and Hawaii, where she went para-sailing when she was 80 years old.
She is survived by her children, Maxine (Paul) Honey, Henderson, Nevada; LouAnne (Ray) Lopez, Henderson, Nevada; DeLynne Crossley, Pocatello, Idaho; Mona Alldredge, St.George, Utah; Esther (Don) Nelson, Springville, Utah; Arthur Allen (Maryann) Woodbury, Nephi,Utah; Michael Stout (Julie)
Woodbury, John Day, Oregon; Clair Ramon (JoLee) Woodbury, Hurricane, Utah; Dean Lewis (Mich'el) Woodbury, Richfield, Utah; and Don Curtis (Mary) Woodbury, Kuna, Idaho. She is also survived by 56 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Norma Sanders, LaVerkin, Utah and Elva White, Jerome, Idaho. Two grandsons and two great-grandsons are currently serving missions for the LDS Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Fern LaThorste and Ruth Seegmiller, two sons-in-law, Daniel Dee Alldredge, and Dennis James Crossley; one grandson, Richard Woodbury, one grandson-in-law, Chris Baca, and one granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Nelson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hurricane 16th Ward, 650 South 700 West in Hurricane. Friends may call at the ward chapel Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the LaVerkin Cemetery.
