MARY ANN AIELLO, 59 LOVES PARK - Mary Ann Aiello, 59, of Loves Park passed away Thurs-day, June 26, 2008, in her home. Born Aug. 23, 1948, in Rockford, daughter of Earl and Annette (Scoma) Wood. Employed by the State of Illinois, Central Management Services as a human resource assistant. Formerly employed by Greenlee Manufacturing. Mary Ann was a member of the Winnebago County Board, serving District 9 since July 9, 1987. She was a political activist who was instrumental in the building of the Justice Center and the 1 percent Public Safety tax. Mary Ann served on numerous committees while member of the County Board, most recently with the Health and Human Services and the Public Safety committees, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her passion and love of animals. Survivors include mother, Annette Wood of Loves Park; brother, Michael (Candice) Wood of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews, including, Lt. Jake Wood, serving in the U.S. Army, Germany, Jessica and Caleb Wood of Kentucky; aunt, uncle and several cousins; and her many special friends, including those with Winnebago County. Predeceased by father; and brother, Francis. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, in St. James Catholic Church, 428 N. Second St., with Father Dean Russell officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 30, in Delehanty Funeral Home Ltd., 401 River Lane.
