Mrs. Reeda Wood Carmichael, 79, of Blowing Rock, N.C., formerly of Keystone Heights, Fla., died Monday evening, Jan. 8, 2007, at Glenbridge Health Care in Boone.
She was born Feb. 3, 1927 in Plant City, Fla., a daughter of the late John and Grace Rice Wood.
Mrs. Carmichael was a retired bookkeeper for the city of Jacksonville, and a member of Keystone Heights United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Terry Sumner and husband, Rodney, of Blowing Rock, N.C.; one son, Timothy D. Carmichael and wife, Lori, of Keystone Heights, Fla.; one sister, Virginia Miley and husband, Odell, of Lakeland, Fla.; two granddaughters, Amy Smiley of Raleigh, N.C., and Wendy Insley of Blowing Rock; and two grandsons, Clint Carmichael of Fort Collins, Colo., and Jeffery Carmichael of Keystone Heights. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Carmichael; and one brother, Vernon Wood.
Burial will follow in the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
