Otherine "Othie" Pence, 83, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, April 10, at Immanuel Baptist Church (112 W 23rd St, Independence, MO). Visitation will be 1 hour prior, beginning at 9:00 am on Thursday. Interment will be in Blue Springs Cemetery. Othie was born on August 21, 1930 to Arthur and Edna (White) Wood in Mountain Home Arkansas. In 1972 she married the love of her life, Charles. Her greatest passion was caring for her home and family. She also enjoyed gardening, and crafts. Othie is survived by her husband, Charles, of the home; daughter Melinda Beale of Blue Springs; step-daughter, Charlene Lopez (Manuel) of Parkville; sister, Shirley O'Neal (Lacy) of Oswego, KS; sister, Twila Harris of Springfield, MO; grandchildren, Gina Kay DeForest, Bradley Beale, and Barack Bratcher. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Delores Walkenshaw and Polly Howard, and a grandson, Brandon Bratcher. Memorials can be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
