THE PARIS NEWS, June 4, 1944, page 8. - 'A. L. WOMACK - Death of A. L. Womack, 61 N. 23rd St., occured Friday at 2:15 p. m. at his home, where he had been in failing health since retiring from business two years ago. At that time, he was operating a confectionary at 19 N. Main St.
The Rev. John Berglund of First Methodist Church will conduct funeral services Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Brown-Roden Funeral Home, and interment will be made in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alex Stark, J. A. Bird, Millard Williams, O. W. Woodard, Anthony Nolan and Ed Sanderson.
He was born at Vernon, LA, Dec. 5, 1866, and came to Texas when a small child, with his parents. Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Elizabeth Luckey, who he married Feb 20, 1887, and these children: W. H. Womack, Ft. Worth; Volney Womack, Arthur City; Jack O. Womack, Mrs. Don Wair and Mrs. Ben F. Kissling, Paris; four grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Cagle, Dallas, and Mrs. Will Leonard, Houston.'
