ABINGDON, Va. Dora Pauline Bowman, age 82, went home to be with the lord on Dec. 20, 2012. She had lived in this area all of her life and made her home in the Mendota community. She was born the daughter of the late Dale and Gertrude Wolfe and was preceded in death by one brother, Garnett Wolfe; and three sisters, Martha Jane Wise, Margaret Osborne and Mildred Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Junior "Jim" Bowman in June of 2011. She was a member of the Poor Valley Log Church. She is survived by her two daughters, Nellie Marie Tedder and husband Tim of Bristol, Tenn., and Teresa "Lou" Salyers and husband Mitch of Abingdon; one son, Charlie Ray Bowman and wife Kathy of Abingdon; two sisters, Evelyn Tate and Eula Mae Tolbert; and four brothers, Eugene Wolfe, Earl Wolfe, Ralph Wolfe and Troy Wolfe; two very special and dear friends, Bonnie Moore and Jean Tedder both of Abingdon; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Dora P. Bowman will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Grizzle, Brother Dean Livingston and Brother Sammy Vicars officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Knollkreg Memorial Park Cemetery in Abingdon. The family will receive friends at the Frost Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday evening or friends may call at the house of Lou and Mitch Salyers at anytime. Active pallbearers will be David O'Quinn, Calvin Woodward, Terry Wolfe, Gary Wolfe, Randy Tedder, J.D. Wise, Jason Wise and Kimmy Bowman.
