Virginia W. Beer, 81, of Mayport, passed away peacefully and admirably on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

She was born July 23, 1934, in Frantz Hollow, Clearfield County, the daughter of the late Cecil Charles and Lillie Agnes (McClinsey) Wolfe.

She married Raymond Leroy Beer on July 8, 1955. He preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1996.

She is survived by six children, Malinda Diana Little and husband Gary of Hawthorn, Eliza Jane Beer of Mayport, Gena L. Baxter of Punxsutawney, Susann V. Hetrick of Punxsutawney, Robert E. Beer and wife Denise of Mayport and Michael S. Beer and significant other of Mayport; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Catherine Diem and Grace Weber, both of Niagara County, New York, and Dorothy Bennett of Punxsutawney; and a brother, Charles Wolfe of Timblin.

In addition to her husband, Raymond, and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Leroy Beer Jr.; a son-in-law, Neil Baxter; a brother, Harold Wolfe; and three sisters, Eliza Mills, Anna Gould and Sarah Knarr.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, and from 10 to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Karen Shay officiating.

Interment will be in the Salem Cemetery, Limestone Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Virginia's name to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of one's choice .
