Doris W. Barlett, 84, of Elm Street, Watsontown, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Kramm Health and Rehabilitation, Watsontown where she had been residing the past few weeks.
Born January 12, 1925 in Milton, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Edna (Hill) Wolfe.
A 1942 graduate of Watsontown High School, she had been employed as a secretary at the former Philco/Ford Zenith Corporation, Watsontown for over 30 years.
Doris was very instrumental in obtaining signatures for the construction of Warrior Run Manor apartments for the Watsontown community.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and kept her family as her main priority throughout her life. She was a care-giver for her own mother for many years earlier in life.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Caroline and John Dobrzynski of East Brunswick, NJ; two sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Vondell Barlett, Watsontown and John and Sue Barlett, Muncy; seven grandsons: Jack and Mark Dobrzynski; Shawn and Justin Barlett; Daniel, Zachary and Dakota Barlett; eight great-grandchildren: Calli, Ryder, Courtney, Jake, Alex, Emma, Erin and Hannah; and also a brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Louise Wolfe of Berwyn, Pa., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Kling and a brother, Frank Wolfe.
Friends are invited to a memorial service celebrating Doris' life to be held Saturday, May 23 at 10:00 AM at Brooks Funeral Home, 124 Main Street, Watsontown with the Rev. James Ritter of Watsontown Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
