Vera Louise Thomas Wolfe, 102, of Taylor Texas, passed away Monday November 7, 2005 at Johns Community Hospital in Taylor.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Vera, Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother was born July 29, 1903 near Lorena, Texas. On September 14, 1923, Vera married Clifford A. Wolfe and together, they owned and operated Wolfe Cleaners in Houston, Texas. Vera was a member of St. Mark's Methodist Church in Houston. She and her husband enjoyed traveling across the United States. They also enjoyed developing new varieties of camellias. They spent many hours together in their greenhouse on Cindy Lane in Houston, propagating camellias and attending local flower and garden shows. In 1979, Vera moved to Taylor, Texas to be near her only daughter.
Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Wolfe and her only brother, Layton E. Thomas.
Vera is survived by her daughter, Patsy Jean Wolfe Barkley of Taylor; two grandsons, Thomas Ray Barkley and wife, Peggy of Llano and Robert David Barkley of Dallas; two great-granddaughters, Katherine Jean Barkley Hays and husband, Robert of Houston and Sarah Louise Barkley of Llano and College Station.
