He married Elizabeth unk. and fathered Anna (b. @1855), Jacob (b. @1857), John D. (b. @1859), and Alice C. (b. 06/30/63). In 1860, he was a farmer living in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, and stood 5' 3" tall with dark hair and gray eyes.

A Civil War veteran, he enlisted at Carlisle March 3, 1865, mustered into federal service there March 9 as a private with the second organization of Co. F, 101st Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company June 25, 1865.

In 1890, he lived in Frankford Township, Cumberland County.

William Wolf, an aged resident of Frankford township, died at his home near Greider's after a long illness. The deceased was about 70 years, and for a long time was mail driver between Newville and Bloserville. He is survived by a wife and two children, Harry, of Carlisle, and Mrs. Keck. The funeral will take place on Friday.
