Mrs. A. Elsie Brendel Fritz, 88, formerly of the Lititz and Rothsville area, died Thursday at 3 a.m. at Conestoga View where she had resided for the past three years. Death followed a lengthy illness.
She was the widow of Harry F. Brendel, who died in 1937, and Jacob Fritz who died in 1964.
She was a member of Swamp United Church of Christ, Reinholds, for more than 50 years. She belonged to the auxilliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 447, Lititz, and the adult Bible class of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Lititz.
Born in Oregon, Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ada Hollinger Wolf.
She is survived by five children: Irene E Christe, St. Petersburg, Fla.; Harry I. Brendel, Ephrata; Dollie M. Donahue, New Rochelle, N.Y.; Alvin L. Brendel, Manheim; and Richard Brendel, Lebanon; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
