Marjorie Lee Murphy, 88, passed away peacefully with her loving husband by her side Sunday morning, March 29, 2009.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Timothy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3001 Forest Ridge, Bedford, the Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd.
Marjorie was born April 6, 1920, in Titus County. She was the only child of Lenard and Lalor Pate Witt. She married Leo Murphy on June 26, 1940, in Brownwood. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to cook and whenever she would take one of her famous dishes to family get-togethers or church meetings, her dish always vanished first. Her family really misses the hot rolls she always made, which they named "Memaw Rolls" after her. She was a longtime member of Richland Hills Baptist Church and especially loved her Sunday school class and the parties she attended there. She and Leo loved to travel and frequently went to Colorado and Branson, Mo. She was especially fond, however, of an Alaskan tour and cruise with her church family. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Patricia Hebert of Estes Park, Colo.
Survivors: Husband, Leo Murphy; daughter, Sandra Wilson and husband, William; grandchildren, Barbara Anne Knight, Steve Wilson and wife, Susan, Lisa Abbott and husband, Keith, Rebecca Hicks and husband, Robert, and Scott Wilson and wife, Rosalyn; and 13 great-grandchildren.
