KERRVILLE — Services for Robert C. Wittlinger Sr., 78, of Kerrville, who died Sunday in a Kerrville hospital, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Turtle Creek Community Church with the Rev. Van Robison officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Born April 14,1920 in Middleton, Ohio, Mr. Wittlinger had been a resident of Kerrville for 10 years, formerly residing in Houston. He was the retired owner of Pioneer Foundry in Houston, having owned it for 35 years. He was a member of Turtle Creek Community Church and a past president of Houston Gem and Mineral Society. He was a graduate of Rice Institute in 1943 and had been an instructor of mathematics at the U.S. Naval Academy. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Lt J.G. in World War II. He married H. Virginia Kringel on May 23, 1945 in Arlington, Va. She preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Anne Kelley of San Antonio; three sons, Robert C. Wittlinger Jr. and Paul F. Wittlinger, both of Houston, and J. Mark Wittlinger of San Antonio; two sisters, Bettie Gaines and Cebe Sue Barnett, both of Houston; and one grandchild, Tyler Marie Wittlinger. Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville is in charge of arrangements.
