Helene Loretta Witcher Mallory, 83, passed away peacefully from this world on Jan. 8, 2011 to be with her husband, Jay. She was surrounded in love by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 12, at First United Methodist Church of Joshua. Burial will be at the Caddo Cemetery.
Helene was born in Breckenridge, on Oct. 25, 1927, and married her loving husband, Jay on Dec. 20,1947. Helene was a graduate of Texas Wesleyan, and in 1961, she and Jay started Mallory's Western and Leather Supply.



She served as the business' secretary, bookkeeper and treasurer until 2006. Helene and Jay were founding members of the National Association of Riding Clubs and Sheriffs' Posses and the Joshua Saddle Club.
Helene will be remembered for her many hours spent in JSC's concession stand. She and Jay moved to Joshua with their children and their families in the 1980's. Helene lived a life devoted to her children, their families and those close to them.
She and Jay loved to travel with friends across the U.S. The Family would like to thank the nurses who took such excellent and compassionate care of Helene during her last days.
Survivors: Son, Al Mallory and wife Sherry; daughter, Cassie Roberson and husband Charlie; grandchildren, Edie Belzner and husband Eric, Ethan Mallory and wife Kasie, Charlie Roberson and wife Christina, Blake Mallory and wife Holly; great grandchildren, Parker Mallory, Matthew and Katelyn Roberson, and Ella Belzner. Her own children are joined by many extended family members and friends who came to know "Mom", "Grandmother", "Granny Helene", "Mallory" as a woman who loved them all as if they were her very own.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers and donations can be made to the Community Hospice of Texas, First United Methodist Church of Joshua, or to the charity closest to your heart.
