Rev. Alexander Wiswall, Pastor of the First Evangelical Congregational Church for the past four years, was born August 1, 1846,in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. Received his early education in the public schools of Marlborough, N. H. In 1869, he graduated from Appleton Academy, New Ipswich, N.H. From there he attended Dartmouth College, and was a member of the Class of 1873. In 1874-1875, he held the position of Principal of the Conant Town High School in Jaffrey, N. H., and then began to study for the Ministry at the Bangor Theological Seminary. Leaving this institution upon his graduation in 1879, he was the installed Pastor of the Congregational Church in Benton Falls, Maine, until 1881, when he became Pastor of the Second Congregational Church in Norway, Maine, where he remained until 1888. From 1892 to 1903 was Pastor of the Congregational Church in Upton, and he came to Uxbridge January 1, 1904.
