She was born in 1922 in Pittsburgh, to John and Bernice Jaworski Wisneski.
Mrs. Godek was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent. A resident of Sterling Heights, MI for 37 years, she worked as an LPN and as a private duty nurse before returning to Indiana in 1989.
Helena is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Jennie Chapman and husband Robert, Elyria, OH; Patricia Zabukovec, East Lake, OH; Gloria Kollm and husband John, East Lake, OH; Margie Hartwig, Detroit, MI; one great niece and two great nephews, Mark Zabukovec, Wicklisse, OH; Joshua Kollm, East Lake, OH; Sara Sakal and husband Bryan, East, Lake, OH; and one great great nephew, Jackson Sakal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Martin Godek, by her daughter Carol Ann Godek, and by two brothers and one sister, Stanley and Frank Wisneski, and Lucille Glowacki. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 A.M. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, with the Rev. Fr. Charles Esposito the celebrant. Interment will be made in the Iselin Union Cemetery, Iselin.
