Susan Ellen Barton was born June 15, 1838, near Columbus, Ohio. In early life she moved to Illinois, where she grew into womanhood. Here she met and was married to William Wisner in 1856. In 1881 with her husband and family she left Lake county. Illinois, and located in Washington county, Kansas, on a farm four and one half miles southeast of Washington, which place was her home until her death January 26, 1917. She had been in aveage health for her until Wednesday evening, and not considered seriously ill intil Friday afternoon, when pneumonia was evident, and she passed away just before midnight Friday night.
Mrs. Wisner is survived by two daughters, Mrs Minnie McHenry of Lincolnville, Kansas, and Mrs. Hilda Hooulett of Louiston, Idaho. Also four sons, Ben and Fred of Greenleaf, Lorin of Washington, who of late years had been at home caring for mother and Earl of Olney Springs, Colorado. Also two sisters, Mrs Harriet Arnold and Anne Wisner of Lodi, California. Her husband and two children died several years ago. The funural service, with Rev. O. J. McCullob of Greenleaf officiating, was held at the home Sunday afternoon. A large number of friends of the family attended. The body was laid to rest in the Washington cemetery.
