Josephine Haines Locke, 92, of Minneola, on June 11, 2007, passed through Heaven's gates to join her parents, family members and devoted husbands, Lee Haines and Joseph Locke. Fondly known to many as Grandma Jo, she and her husband Lee, moved their family to Minneola in 1953 and opened Haines Sundries and Restaurant. Several years later they built a new and larger restaurant and for the next 14 years, were known for serving the best home cooking and fresh hot donuts in Lake and surrounding counties. Mrs. Locke was a member of several churches and a member of South Lake County Moose Lodge #1170, where for many years she enjoyed the warmth of companionship, the music and dancing the night away. She wasn't a drinking person, she was truly happy just being with friends in a relaxed environment. She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Sonny Cleveland of Summerfield; her devoted grandson and granddaughter-in-law, John and Melissa MacEachern of Jacksonville; son, Richard Haines of Clermont; step-son, Rev. Lee Haines of Salem, IN; several other children; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren. For those who truly loved her, will remember her love, her devotion and her great strength she gave to all. Visitation will be Friday, June 15, 2007 from 6-8 PM at the Clermont Chapel. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 1 PM at the Clermont Chapel with Interment following at Oak Hill Cemetery in Clermont. Arrangements are the care of Brewer and Sons Funeral Home, 1018 West Avenue, Clermont. 352-394-8500.
