BROKEN HIP INJURIES FATAL TO EDINBURGER
Mrs. Stillabower Succumbs At Hospital in Columbus
Word was received by relatives in Franklin this afternoon of the death at noon today of Mrs. Barbara Stillabower, of near Edinburg, who succumbed in Bartholomew County Hospital at Columbus of complications which developed after she suffered a broken hip recently.
Mrs. Stillabower was a sister of Charles Wirey, of Franklin, and an aunt of Mrs. Ben Keaton, of Franklin.
Funeral arrangements had not been made this afternoon, but will be announced later. The body was taken to the Mutz Funeral Home at Edinburg.
Mrs. Stillabower fell recently at her home in the Ohio Ridge community, near the Bartholomew-Brown County line, southwest of Edinburg. She developed complications and was taken to the hospital only a few days ago.
Other survivors include two sons, Homer Stillabower, of Ohio Ridge, and Lora Stillabower, who lived with his mother.

Rites For Woman Who Died on 83rd Birth Anniversary
EDINBURG, June 3. – Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Stillabower, who died on her 83rd birthday anniversary, Thursday afternoon, in the Bartholomew County Hospital at Columbus of injuries received in a fall, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Ohio Ridge church, near here.
The Rev. Ray Bozell, pastor of German Township, Bartholomew County, will be in charge. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The body was brought to the Mutz mortuary in Edinburg for preparation for burial.
Mrs. Stillabower was born on June 2, 1855, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Spitzner Wirey. She was married to John Stillabower on April 8, 1890. Mr. Stillabower died several years ago. To the union were born two sons, Homer, of Ohio Ridge, and Lora, who lived with his mother. Three brothers also survive, William Wirey, of Edinburg; Charles Wirey, of Franklin, and Jacob Wirey, of Gleason.
The deceased spent her entire life southwest of here in Hammond Township, Brown County.
A short time ago, she fell at her home and suffered a broken hip. Complications developed and she was removed to the hospital only a few days before she succumbed on her birthday anniversary.
