Winton Rites Held Monday:
Services for Mrs. O.C (Captola) Winton, 58, Konawa area resident, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Swearingen-Arnhart Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Sam Mitchell officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Ronnie Newton. Burial was in the Vamoosa Cemetery. Mrs. Winton died Saturday, following an extended illness.
Born Jan. 10, 1918 at Smithville, Ok. she had been a resident of Hazel since 1937. She was married to O.C. Winton in November of 1936. The couple moved from Tulsa to a farm north of Konawa in the Hazel area.
An income tax accountant, she was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church in Seminole, Ok.
Survivors include her husband, O.C. Winton, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Cathy Clark, Choctaw; Mrs. Nora Ellen Eperle, Sasakwa; a brother, Alfred White, Seminole; two sisters, Mrs. Ted Griffin, Clebit; Mrs. Nob Blades, Wapanucka; three grandchildren, Cliff Eberle, Larea Eberle, both of Sasakwa, Ok. Lenny Clark, Choctaw; and several nieces and nephews.
Bearers are Jake Thompson, Clarence Adams, Tony Cagle, Vernon Moreland, Hap Clark, Carrol Brookshier. Sam Rosamond served as honorary bearer.
