Christine Mary Kougher, 56, DuBois, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital while embraced by her loving family. She was a loving wife, a compassionate sister, a nurturing grandmother, and the greatest mother her children could ever ask for.

Born Feb. 15, 1959, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Irene Stolter Winslow.

She was a faithful member of the Lakeside United Methodist Church in DuBois, where she was married to David Wayne Kougher in 1978. On April 8 of this year, they celebrated 37 wonderful years of marriage together.

She graduated from the DuBois Area High School in 1977. Christine worked at State Farm Insurance for the past 24 years.

Her love of animals influenced her to establish the Keystone Golden Retriever Rescue, a non-profit organization where she saved the lives of many dogs over the years.
Besides spending as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren, her other hobbies included gardening, cooking and antiquing.

She is survived by her husband, David Kougher; and her two sisters, Carolyn Winslow and Judy Snyder. She raised four children: her eldest, Jason Kougher; and triplets: Jess Kougher, Jenna Kougher and Jeremy Kougher. Her two grandchildren, Nathan and Kenzie Kougher, were loved dearly and meant everything to her.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Winslow.

A celebration of Christine's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Robert Zilhaver officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adamson Funeral Chapel Inc. of DuBois.

Christine's family wants to express their appreciation to the staff of West Penn Hospital, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit for the excellent care Christine received during her time there.
