Gladys J. Peggy (Cady) Winslow died March 26, 2013, at South Shore Hospital. She was born in Quincy, daughter of the late Thomas and Alberta (Dempsey) Cady and was raised and educated there. During World War II, she served as a Navy Wave at Marylands Bethesda Naval Hospital and the Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Peggy had made her home in Hanover since 1941. She was a life member of the 1st Congregational Church of Hanover and was a member of the Hanover Garden Club and the Waves National Association. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harry F. Lee Winslow; and their children, Peter L. Winslow of San Diego, Peggy-Lee Foley of Carver, David C. Winslow of Swansville, Maine, Susan A. Posner of Melbourne, Fla., and Jon H. Winslow of Hanson. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family celebrated her life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., in Rockland. Burial will be at a later date in Hanover Center Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA.
