Mrs. Betty Finchum Died Saturday, Was 98 --

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Finchum, 98, one of the county's oldest citizens, who died at Franklin County Hospital Saturday following a lengthy illness, were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from Watson-Huffman Funeral Home in Winchester with the Rev. George K. Jones officiating. Burial was in Mt. Garner Cemetery.

Mrs. Finchum, a resident of Decherd, was a native of Franklin County and was the daughter of the late Ellison and Mary Conn Winkler.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. M. Armstrong of Decherd, and Mrs. Burton Finney of Nashville; three sons, Elmer Finchum of Nashville, Sam Finchum of Winchester, and Truman Finchum of Decherd; thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-six great-grandchildren, and thirty-four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Betty Finchum Passes at Age 98 --

Mrs. Betty Finchum, 98, of Decherd, died April 24 in the Franklin County Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. April 29 at Watson-Huffman Funeral Home of Decherd. The Rev. George K. Jones officiated and burial was in Mount Garner Cemetery.

Mrs. Finchum was born December 29, 1866, in Franklin County. Her parents were the late Allison and Mary Conn Winkler. She was a Methodist.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. A. M. Armstrong, Decherd, and Mrs. Burton Finney, Nashville; three sons, Elmer Finchum, Nashville, Sam Finchum, Winchester, and Truman Finchum, Decherd; 31 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren.
