Canton, IL – Vera Mae Vanderschoor, 84, of Canton, formerly of Dunfermline, died at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at her home.

She was born on March 5, 1929 in Peoria, to Christopher and Vivian (Hubbs) Winegardner. She married Jacob Vanderschoor in July 29, 1977. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1996.

She is survived by her son, Christopher (Angie) Oest of Canton, and one granddaughter, Emily.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Vera retired from International Harvester, where she worked as a secretary for 34 years and 4 months. Following her retirement, she volunteered her time at the American Red Cross and Graham Hospital, and was active with the Harvester Girls and the Altruistic Coffee Club.

Vera was a loving mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Emily. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Canton.

Burial will be at High Bridge Cemetery in Dunfermline.
