Genell Kroeger, age 84, of Flora, IL died at 8:00 AM Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Flora Health Care Center in Flora.
She was born February 24, 1923 in Iuka, IL to Austin & Myrtle (Jones) Winchester. She married Paul Ross and he preceded her in death in 1945. She later married Ishmael Davis and he preceded her in death in 1960. Her third marriage was to Henry Kroeger in 1964 in Flora and he also preceded her in death.
She is survived by 4 sons: Curtis Ross & wife Sandy of Oblong, Jack Davis & wife Cindy of Olney, William Davis & wife Betty of Flora and Shelby Davis & wife Jennifer of Flora; 3 daughters: Sandra Harmon, Darla Kroeger and Marsha Kroeger all of West Liberty; 1 sister: Helen Whitworth of Springfield; 11 grandchildren: Wesley Davis of Charleston, Brock Davis of Flora, Wayne Davis of Lincoln, Diane Moore of Flora, Daniel Davis of Owego, NY, Jessica Davis of Olney, Becky Legg of Oblong, Tammy William of Oblong, Joseph Davis of Springfield, Kimberly Files of Clarksville, TN and Christy Reid of Wayne City; 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, 2 sons (James Ross & Joseph Davis), 1 grandson (Wesley Ross), 2 brothers (Howard & Homer Winchester), and 5 sisters (Bertha Pilman, Lela Ramsey, Agnes Sapp, Florence Eckell & Marie Babcock).
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 21, 2007 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Burial will be in Clay City Cemetery in Clay City. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
