Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, with burial in St. Clement's Cemetery, Bankston. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Reiff Funeral Home, Farley, where there will be a Cath-olic Daughters of the Americas rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Farley American Legion Auxiliary service at 7 p.m.. The Farley American Legion will meet in body at 7:15 p.m. and there will be a wake service at 7:30 p.m.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1900, in Holy Cross, daughter of August and Catherine (Braun) Ellerbach. She married Joseph Wilwert on Oct. 8, 1923, at Holy Cross Catholic Church; he died May 23, 1977.
She received her education in the Holy Cross-area schools. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Farley, and its altar and rosary society. She also was a member of the Farley Catholic Daughters of the Americas Presentation Court 1460, and the Farley American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Grace Gotto, of Bankston; two sons, Norb (Germaine) Wilwert, of rural Epworth, and Laverne (Joan) Wilwert, of Bankston; 18 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Stella Wilwert, of Dubuque, and Christina (Joe) Kraus, of Sherrill.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Leon Gotto, on April 14, 1976; a great-grandson, Cory Simon, on Sept. 21, 1991; four sisters and five brothers.
A Marie M. Wilwert Memorial Fund has been established.
