Bennie Samuel Wilt, 93, Shelbina, died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 2:10 p.m. at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.

He was born in Monroe County, on December 8, 1910, the son of Henry S. and Lucy Lewis Wilt.

He married Cleo Ellen Bowling on August 30, 1933 in New London. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Bennie Craig Wilt, Trimble; two grandchildren, Bennie Craig Wilt Jr., Shelbina, and Susan Renee Farrell, Vandalia; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Carole Fielden on April 16, 1984; five brothers, Warren, Lewis Craig, Nelson, Billie and an infant brother.

Mr. Wilt was a Baptist by faith. He was a 54 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Shelbina. He was a farmer, construction worker, and truck driver.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Chapel in Shelbina with Bro. Paul Patterson officiating.

Burial was in Sunset Slope Cemetery in Shelbina.

Visitation was Friday evening with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.
