L. Wayne Wilson, 77, Maryville, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 23, 1932, in Pickering, Mo., to Arthur T. and Clara Brown Wilson, the youngest of 12 children.
Wayne served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. At the time of his death he had been in the printing profession for 54 years and still owned and operated Wilson Printing Co. of Maryville since 1967. A man who liked to keep busy, he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, lawn and garden work, and restoring old clocks and his old cub tractor.
He was a member of the Barnard United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Herb, John, Bill and Charles, and four sisters, Mildred, Betty, Verlene and Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Janila Baker Wilson; four children; Roger (Kelly) Wilson, of Greenwood, Indiana, Sandra (Chuck) Wray, of Maryville, Dave (Sheri) Wilson of Rosendale, and Jim (Terri) Wilson of Maryville; nine grandchildren; Melissa, Davey, Tyler, Alan and Drew Wilson, Matt Wray, Tara White, Drew and Brittany Bisig; eight great-grandchildren; Treyton Farley, Avery White, Brody White, Parker Wilson, Brittany, Austin, Dakota and Sarah Wray; sisters; Mary Treese, Maryville, Dorothy (Bob) Mann and Margaret Damgar, Tucson, Arizona.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Miriam Cemetery.
